Scope

DGJV produces grading and valuation certificates for loose stones and stones mounted in jewellery. Each item is individually assessed.

Report Basis and Limits

A report is not a guarantee. Reports are issued using DGJV evaluation methodology and professionally worded GIA-based grading standards. Mounted stone weights are calculated from measurements and may differ from actual weight.

Grading outcomes may vary depending on examiner, method and timing.

Contractual Relationship

DGJV contractual obligations are with the original purchasing customer. If an item is later sold, gifted or otherwise transferred, obligations remain with that original customer.

DGJV is willing to discuss report queries, but in the first instance any query should also be raised with the seller or original source of the item.

Copyright and Tampering

Reports are copyrighted and may not be reproduced without permission. Any tampering with report data invalidates the report. Supporting data is digitally archived and backed up for dispute retrieval.

Replacement Copies

Replacement report copies may be provided from archived data or by reassessment. Charges may apply at DGJV discretion, including requests from eligible third parties in possession of the original item and report.
